obliviant. You know, like oblivious and defiant all at the same time

That would be a good name for the next generation anti-depressant or relaxant. “Obliviant: when you wish the world just wasn’t there anymore.”
And the commercial would show–during the part that the announcer is going on and on about side effects and “ask your doctor”, etc–a mother lounging our her couch with a distantly pleased look on her face while her children ransack the house (while screaming) and pour chocolate syrup on her piano. And her husband is making out with the Latino housekeeper. No, two Latino housekeeers. And one is a man.
I like to keep things subtle.
By the way, one of the advertsiements on your blog has presented a logical conundrum. I have NO IDEA what the ad is for except for some vague allusions to “hope” (which I didn’t know you could sell, at least in any other way than the Obliviant pill). But the ad says: “Because nothing is worse that doing nothing.” Stop. Logical problem. A realtively simple syllogism will illustrate this:
1. “Nothing is worse that doing nothing.”
2. Doing nothing creates nothing.
3. We should do things which are better over things which are worse.
4. Therefore it is better to do nothing, than simply have nothing.
5. But doing nothing creates more nothing, which is worse than doing nothing.
You see? It’s a vicious cycle. It’s like saying commiting murder is worse than unlawfully killing innocent people. It’s neither useful nor insightful. Enough said. I think I’ve made my point.
