Christian Bale Day: A Synopsis

July 19th, 2008 by Kateastrophe

Being able to buy movie tickets almost a week early?  SO sweet.

Showing up for the 9:40 pm movie close to two hours and still not being even close to being the first in line?  A little weird.

Waiting in the movie line for an hour THEN being told they opened up a second theatre and you can be the first ones in?  A total hit.

Sitting in the row of seats with the metal banister in front of them? Best seats ever.

Convincing the theatre manager to let you leave and go get Gelato for four people in to shorten the wait time?  Excellent.

Forgetting to wear a cape like some guys at the theatre?  Kind of a bummer.

The energy of an opening day crowd?  Unmatchable.

Seeing the preview for Terminator Salvation and realizing that’s Christian Bale’s voice? Very exciting.

Two and a half hours of The Dark Knight, some more Christian, the amazing final performance of Heath and the bat cycle?  Totally and completely worth every minute of waiting and anticipation.

Seriously people, it was THAT GOOD.  Go see.  Go on.  Go!

Seriously, though. That movie was unbelievable. I mean, I expected good, but not that good. Not by a long shot.

And we had excellent seats too. “Luckily” for me, though, I came in late and my friends had already saved me a seat, so I didn’t have to wait in line, and we hate the bar seats. Awesomeness.

no no no, “had” the bar seats, not “hate” them. Goodness, I really should check my comments before I post them :)

I KNOW RIGHT!??!?! HOLY COW IT WAS SOO GOOD! We saw it opening night…the midnighter…and I was smitten the whole time by the awesomeness thereof. LOVED Heath, man. Wow. Can’t say enough good stuff…

  6. Rhonda Says:

I totally have to go again…I’ve been told I’m the ONLY person alive who fell asleep during the movie. Thanks for playing!

    Hmmmm…

I saw it too. Loved it, as I love the Bale man with every fiber of my being.

But… I was disappointed. I know, right? How dare I be disappointed? I thought some of it was awful, frankly. But! The parts that weren’t awful were SOO SOSOSOSOSO SO good that I still walked away saying, “yup, that’s one of the best movies ever.”

Still… it doesn’t come CLOSE to being as good as Batman Begins (in my not-at-all-humble opinion!) :-)

  8. Jessi Says:

soooo jealous you have already seen this. we tried….but it was sold out everywhere. I cannot wait.

  9. sara Says:

Ahh I’m so jealous! I haven’t seen it yet! But I keep reading reviews like that will satiate me!
